     This memorial website was created to remember our Daddy, Brother, Pop-Paw, Uncle and Friend.

     Mora Curtis Browning was born in Gilbert, West Virginia on July 31, 1955 to Mora Lee & Virginia "Hick" Browning. Curtis had 6 brothers, Fred, Danny, Terry, David, Richard and Jay, and one sister Sue. He had three daughters, Mary Ann, Rebecca, and Jennifer.

    Curtis had two grand children who he adored and loved with all his heart. Hannah Paige, daughter of Mary Ann and Hunter Gage, son of Rebecca. Hunter stayed with Paw all the time and they had a special bond that will never be erased by his death.  "Buddies forever"

     He was a wonderful Daddy to his girls.  He was not only a Daddy but a best friend. Curtis was a listener and very honest man.  You always knew what he was thinking. He didn't hold his feelings back. Even though he didn't say much what he did say held so much meaning. One of the things that we love so much about him. He would tell you honestly if you ask his opinon. And with that big smile and stare over his glasses, he would soften the blow of what he was about to say. His girls miss his advice and outlook on life so much.

    Curtis worked in the coal mines as a truck driver for most of his life. Many tell us, "Nobody drove a truck like Curtis did."  Curtis enjoyed working on cars with his family and friends. So many memories we have of him laying under a truck or car. It was those moments when the guys bonded and created memories and laughter that now will last us forever.

    On October 7, 2007, the driver of a pickup truck, intoxicated, fell asleep and crossed the center line, striking him head on.  He was on his way home to get ready for church after spending the night at his brothers. Curtis was taken from us to soon, to suddenly. He had so much living left to do. Our life will never be the same. A part of our heart is missing.

     I hope that by creating this web site we can share in his memories and photos.  Maybe learn of a story to make us laugh or remind us of that smile he shared so often. Please leave your comments and thoughts of him.  Memories left only help us.

Always in our hearts and  thoughts ~We Miss You Curtis~

Here is one of the memories that I have of my Unlce Curtis, we (me.jenny and becky) were only around 4 or 5 years old sitting at Granny's kitchen table coloring, and jenny and becky were fighting of course over who gets what crayon lol and Curtis came into color with us so that everyone would calm down and get along, I still remember I was coloring a picture of a barbie and didnt know what color to make her hair, when Curtis told me to make it pretty brown like mine, because one day that would be me, a pretty dark haired barbie. and now when my 6 year old daughter asks me what color to make her barbie's hair the first answer and response i will ever get is brown, because one day she too will be a pretty brown haired barbie. I will never forget my uncle Curtis, even though I was never really around, when i was he always made it seem like I had been there all along with everyone. And it hurts that such a loving,wonderful man was taken from us. But i know i my heart that he is in sucha better happy place and we will all one day meet again. I love you Curtis! xoxoxo

Its not goodbye, But I will see you later!

Dad...so many images come to mind
whenever I speak your name;
It seems without you in my life
things have never been the same.

What happened to those lazy days;
When my life was consumed in you
in your love, and in your smile.

What happened to all those times
when I always looked to you;
No matter what happened in my life
you could make my gray skies blue.

Dad, some days I hear your voice
and turn to see your face;
Yet in my turning...it seems
the sound has been erased.

Dad, who will I turn to for answers
when life does not make sense;
Who will be there to hold me close
when the pieces just don't fit.

Oh, Dad, if I could turn back time
and once more hear your voice;
I'd tell you that out of all the dads
you would still be my choice.

Please always know I love you
and no one can take your place;
Years may come and go
but your memory will never be erased.

Today, Jesus, as You are listening
in your home above;
Would you go and find my daddy
and give him all my love.

Happy Birthday Daddy.............................
